The smith, oh yes.
His toil in his smithery, his labour, to hammer the cold iron into the red hot metal he needed to shape his creation.
The dwarves of myth, told stories of the world being created by a smith. Or perhaps, many smiths.
The smith didn’t just shape iron, no, he shaped silver, gold and lead.
Smiths were once needed for war, they made armor and axes; swords and knives.
They made tools of peace, hammers, gates, pickaxes.
Then came a new era, the era of hte firearm, yes this is the weapon most used today. Firearms at first were simple toys for rich boys, cannons at first were used to scare horses. Hundreads of years will pass, the world will make firearms much more powerful, and more accurate. It was the firearm, not the sword, ruled the world of warfare. It was becasue of the deadliness of the firearm that people began to realize, as thousands of men die in seconds, that war is wrong. That war is an evil thing, well people already knew this but it was becoming even more so.
The Smiths were no-longer needed to make tools or weapons, there were faster and cheaper ways of doing this now. The Smith was outdated.
Smiths are not needed by the world anymore, there are few who do what they used to, they are merely a name now. It will become a completely meaningless name. It will die in the flames of industry.
